Alicia 2.0 was originally meant to release as a massive update for 1.0, but was dropped for unknown reasons and eventually launched as a separate game on a new server. The 2.0 server was only open for two weeks in its Beta phase. 
Despite introducing several new features, 2.0 was mostly poorly received by the playerbase for over-simplifying many aspects of 1.0 that were already fine as they were. Subsequently, 2.0 drained the development team financially, contributing to Alicia 1.0's eventual closure in February of 2014.
